2019: Third place for coverage of business news in "Shoplifters taking toll on local economy after Prop. 47" and its impacts in Santa Barbara County following legislation aiming to reduce recidivism.

2019: Fourth place for coverage of youth and education in "Santa Barbara County taking steps to reduce juvenile incarceration" examining the disparate snapshot of juveniles placed under probationary supervision compared with other counties like San Luis Obispo, Monterrey, Santa Cruz and Ventura. The story found that incarcerating low-level offenders exposes youth to serious, high-risk criminals that increases recidivism.

2018: First place for in-depth reporting category for five-part series titled "Green Rush in the 805" examining the legalization of recreational marijuana for 21 and up and its impact on the region

2017: Blue Ribbon recognition and honorable mention in education coverage "OAHS mulls attendance policies after citation," examining illegal admission policies at Santa Barbara County area charter schools.
